Rigid plastic boxes make the ideal material for creating a customized packaging experience. From logos to graphics, text and more, they can be imprinted on any or all sides, in single or full color.

There are different reasons to choose one imprinting method over another, so consult with your design team to choose the right one for your needs. Here is a quick guide to what each means and when you may choose them.

Choose The Right Custom Imprinting Method For Plastic BoxesHot Stamping For Custom Imprinting On Plastic Boxes

Hot stamping is a dry printing method in which inks or foils are transferred to a flat surface at high temperatures. It originally became most popular for gold foiling and embossing in book printing. Today, hot stamping is perfect in situations where you want to achieve a high level of detail for an elegant and beautiful effect.

The resulting imprint is permanent and incredibly resilient. It can withstand harsh conditions, making it ideal for shipping without concern for damaging the image.

Silk Screening For Custom Imprinted Plastic Boxes

Silk screening is a wet printing method in which images are transferred by pressing ink through the image embedded into a screen. It’s a versatile method that works well on everything from plastic to glass, metal, wood and other materials. It can also be used on flat or cylindrical surfaces for a 360 degree effect.

Silk screening is ideal for large, bold images or when you wish to achieve a “wrap” effect. It’s also a good choice when you’re looking for multi colored images or printing on multiple sides.

Pad Printing On Plastic Boxes

Pad printing is a wet-ink process that can be used on irregularly shaped surfaces, for single color or multi-color process printing to match specific PMS colors.

One of the main advantages of pad printing on your plastic box is its ability to afford you a level of extremely fine detail.
